THE STORY This production, “Organic Animal Husbandry,” (co-produced with Azure Farm Incorporated) was completed in February and released nationally in March. It was shot in September of 2003 at the Azure Farm in Dufur, Oregon with nationally known Seminar Presenters, Dr. Paul Dettloff DVM and Dan Leiterman, from Wisconsin. Both are pioneers in the Organic field - a timely topic now, with all the concerns in the health and animal care industries. When we were called to consider shooting this seminar I had no idea what to expect in regard to the content. I have been for some time though curious about the topic of “Organic.” We prayerfully committed to doing the shooting and from the moment we began recording I knew our efforts were not in vain. The information shared was fascinating. I was so taken by what they were sharing that I could not wait to start working on the post production process. The editing ended up taking over three months to complete (which included viewing the raw footage over and over again, working with narration, music and about nine days of ‘On-line’ editing at Pace Video, Portland). All the while, the information continued to stay so interesting and fresh that there was never a dull moment during the whole three month process!
PRESENTERS SHARE: HOW TO LIVE A HEALTHIER, WISER LIFE Dr. Paul Dettloff , a Veterinarian and Dan Leiterman, a Chemist/Nutritionist started out in the full-scale conventional practices in the mid to late 60’s, and were introduced to the Organic world in the early to mid 80’s. They were very intrigued with what they were learning about regarding Organics, while at the same time becoming very disillusioned with the conventional practices that were beginning to fail, not to mention the rising risk factors for humans. Having been educated, trained and experienced in both the conventional and organic fields (no pun intended) has given them an incredible basis for what they now know and teach… educating the general public in how to live a healthier and wiser life! They are both excellent, gifted speakers with an amazing wealth of knowledge using detailed illustrations, witty humor and numerous, exciting how-to’s.

They caution us on ‘growing’ and ‘eating’ from within the conventional circles and explain the effects that it has on our soils, plants, animals and our human bodies. So much of the information given does cross over into our human health care - not only the cautions, but also the creative alternatives and solutions… the way God intended.
